I think maybe they need to rethink the playoff system for regionals, especially in Class 6A Womens Soccer. Most boring game last night with Maize defeating Wichita South 10-0 with over 30 min. left in the 2nd half. Probably should have been 10-0 within the first 20 min. of the game. Almost was ready to ask for a refund at the front gate. Nothing against Wichita South, but maybe the lower seeds should play each other first and get alot of the weeding out process over with and give the top 2 seeds in this region a bye. Didn't do either team any favors last night with the way that game went. I know in lower classes that the top teams get byes and then only have to win the regional final before going to substate.

Really too bad, state should have sent Andale to Pratt & Kingman to the MS/Mac sub-state. Would have given both sub-states two quality teams. Instead Pratt,
though deserving is given a cakewalk.

Region brackets are region brackets, too bad Maize S. will most likely play Andale again. Oh well MS is a good team and so is Andale; any bets on the winner? Kind of reminds me of the State 6a last year when Goddard ended up w 3rd after a cake walk with Derby. Sometimes the roll of the dice come up snake eyes for a great region like south central Kansas.

Just read that Heights beat West 10 - 0, that must have been a hard game for Heights. Jada Scott even had five goals.

East is a juggernaut at the City level, and congratulations for a great performance. Taking lots of points from having many girls score is a great strategy at this level, but tends not to translate very well to State. I hope Hutchinson can keep building his program to where it also has multiple individuals and relays that can compete for state championships. It's tiresome to see the complete domination at that level in 6A by the NE Kansas schools. I'm tired of it in all sports - there are so many sports where generations of students have watched NE Kansas win year after year, in some cases from the beginning of state competition. Yes, I know Trinity with the Bruces did have a short run a few years back in all-class girls' swimming, and historically some City League boys' teams have succeeded at that level - long ago.

Finally had time to look at all brackets - Andale easily toughest bracket in state. 7 seed is 11-9, 8 seed is 8-12. Some of the brackets are incredibly weak - my guess is the 8 teams at state will not be the best 8...

If Larson says something that is printed in the paper it is fair game. Maybe she should think about what she says before she says them. I guess we all have an agenda don't we? You are behind on posting your daughter's stats for everyone to see to promote her over her teammates. Why don't you go do that. It should keep you busy. I don't agree that Copeland and Larson's comments were similar and I don't have to just because you say so. It's funny thought that you keep posting to continue the debate if you are so against posting negativity. If you want it to stop then SHUT UP!

Copeland said "they" repeatedly, referring to her team...you are not very smart. You have a problem with Larsen, unsure why, but obvious. Freedame you piled on last week to Larsen-just saying. I enjoy the banter about opinions and ideas-i just hate to see personal attacks against someonw that cannot respond. Larsen cannot respond...really don't care excect its chicken crap to do. Copelands comments are at least equal to blaming her own team and giving no credit to BC-but you hate for Larsen blinds you. Momavs is right about whoever you are

As best as I can see...this is probably close to the way it will end up with seedings and matchups in the 5A South Central Regionals. Some teams still have a game left tonight that could change a couple of things, but this should be close. Higher seeds have 1st round home games.

Nice-ignore opinions about things we don't like...amazing how some people can say neagative things about people, then run behind "my opinion" don't criticize me... My issue was with you attacking/piling on someone who cannot respond.

Missing point completely-but nevermind.

Nw is not as strong-really unfortunate city league is so weak. Frankly 4A is considerably stronger than 5 and 6A in this area. Hard to see it changing in the future...

Good luck to them all next week and at state-hope Wichita area brings home 4 5 and 6A titles

You are right, it is pretty much a fight between Northwest and BC every year. No other competition. It's such a shame and it can't be very fun to run rule a team nearly every week.

In all fairness, NW just doesn't have the players they have had in previous years. I think Mary has done a good job with the athletes she has. True, she loses hard but she still is a respected coach. I was impressed by Carroll's SS. "a little fireplug". Defense about the same a Maize South, both good. In my opinion, MS has edge in pitching. ONLY MY OPINION! If not liked, ignore it. What has happened to the city league teams?

More than likely this is how Regionals in the 6A South Central Region and the matchups will be set up. This takes into account head-to-head winners in regular season play and my guess on final records. Most teams have one regular season game left. Higher seeds will have 1st round home games.

Hard to believe Wichita Heights is ranked 4th. in class 6A Southwest. Now that most teams know how to stop Jada Scott I don't see them doing so well even with their new freshman. They have a jv player that I saw at a tournament at South High, she scored three goals in one game and was a very good passer, I went to other games where Heights played but never saw her on the varsity squad, maybe they are saving her for the post season.

WNW is better than East. Heights' pitching could take them a long way. Heights should move up with a DH win over East and a win over KMC.
